This painting, like my ego, is very big. It's one of the largest pieces I've done. I had only done one, or two self portraits before, so I thought go big with this piece. One reason it's a large canvas is that this the only canvas I had stretched at the time. I bought the belt in Scotland in 1995, and is one of my favorites.
